F&W’s Ray Isle discovers what happens to a bottle of wine submerged in ocean water for 150 years.
For his article Food & Wine editor Ray Isle dove the wreck and was on the panel of World Class Sommeliers that tasted the 150+ year wine to great fanfare at the recent Charleston Wine & Food festival, receiving extensive worldwide media coverage.
This was followed by his subsequent interview on William Shatner's Brown Bag series where they discussed the wine and his diving on the wreck.
The mystery behind the wine is also central to the plot of the upcoming PBS film being produced by LookBermuda | LookFilms which will reach 12 million + viewers when released later this year.
These are great examples of how the story of the recently recovered wine is being leveraged to showcase Bermuda's diving and historical assets to the world through film, print, web and other mediums with the support of the BTA and the Department of Conservation Services.
